Time critical delivery of biowaste decontamination systems completed at UK COVID-19 vaccine production facility
In the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, the UK government placed a contract for more than one billion Euro to secure up to 190 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine being developed by a global vaccine manufacturer in the United Kingdom.
To complete this work the company would need to construct new vaccine production areas, each of which required a dedicated decontamination system for BSL3 biowaste.
The Clean-in-Place system was required to perform a variety of targeted line and process vessel cleans. Th system needed to be much more flexible and efficient in view of process segregation, optimum CIP system occupancy & to support the manufacturing operations with full automated CIP operations. Working closely with the Omrix, a number of multi-disciplinary meetings were help in which the project aims and objectives were identified to ensure that all expectations were appropriately aligned.
The DEC-Group required Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems for cleaning of their process equipment and containment systems. The CIP systems were required to perform a variety of cleaning duties, to support the End-users manufacturing operations with full automated CIP operations.
Geschke Pty Ltd of Keysborough Victoria were contracted to manage the supply and installation of the Avian Facility Waste Water Decontamination Plant new Mickleham post entry quarantine facility. Geschke selected Suncombe in the UK and Suncombe’s Australian Agents Fineweld to design, develop, manufacture, test and install the Plant.
Suncombe provide a state-of-the-art effluent treatment facility for Containment Level 4 wastes for the new research laboratories at The Francis Crick Institute.
